I hope your travels give you some answers and connections to the generations before you.

I love this post and I was actually considering sending some of those books to my parents as well as my children so that they could tell their stories too. I’d also like to tell my story. I want my children and their children to know who I was and why I did what I did, what drove me and motivated me and what my idea of a perfect happy ending would be to my story.

I was surprised but very touched when my son gave me that book! There’s so much why behind the facts - I think as I get older, I really want to connect with the why of my family and friends. It brings deeper connection and understanding .

So interesting!! I can't wait to hear about your trip, so special and fun! I am actually the 13th generation American, as my family was on the second boat that landed after Jamestown was started. That boat came from England and I would like to trace my roots back there as well. Enjoy and good luck!!

I will be posting some updates and will share more when I return. It’s a fun hobby, tracing back your roots… and you’ve got some pretty cool stories to uncover!
