I have been a fan of SNL from the very first episode. The good, the bad, AND the ugly.

The imperfections make it more fun sometimes.

Fun piece, Sally! As a SNL fan you’ll love Curtis Sittenfeld’s novel Romantic Comedy, based on SNL from the viewpoint of a female writer for the show.

It is remarkable that SNL has endured. Like Boomers, they paved their own way and didn't give up (at least not yet)! It's a cultural icon for us--but also for each generation since. That is remarkable. How fun!

This was an interesting read. I've never seen a complete episode of the show. I think I tried in my late teens and didn't like it, then in my early 30s, still didn't like it, and recently my husband pulled up a clip to share with me, one he thought was hilarious. Didn't work for me, either.

I think it's pretty awesome that a show has been on for that long and still around today.

If I need to pull up old comedy I'm a sucker for Johnny Carson, Hollywood Squares, Seinfeld, and going way back to Dick Van Dyke and I Love Lucy.

Those are some classic shows with classic humor. There’s a new version of Hollywood Squares but I havent seen it . The original version was some kitschy fun!
